My best friend loathes cross-country running. She is of the opinion that she should have some kind of motivation to run like a scalded cat (or rather jog around muddy areas, because for some reason someone has it in their head that cross-country running must involve goodly quantities of mud), and does not consider the pacification of our PE teacher enough motivation to do cross-country.
I can't say I'm a big fan of running either, even if I am good at it. I need motivation to run, too, so I use cross-country running as practise for times when I need to run, too (and I don't mean when I'm late for the school bus, not that I have been lately. Can't wait to get out of the house at times). Sometimes when I'm running, I imagine something is chasing after me. This works pretty well, though it worked a bit too well when I did the 1500m one year: yes, I won the race, but I really, really should've paced myself. Ice cream was needed. As was a lie down. Aaargh. Very very silly Ariadne.
For those who are wondering, the reason why I was late with the blog today was my parents sat me down for A Serious Talk. Which took ages. Most of it was a pretty animated discussion. If it had been the English debate at school, it would've lasted about five or ten minutes before the English teacher called the whole thing off because it was way too rowdy.
I'll be back tomorrow. Bye for now!
